Week 1



The theme for this first week of Advent was conception…

• Conception occurs all over the created world.
• Conception happens amid the messes of daily life.
• Conception starts small.
• Conception can be filled with unknowns.
• Conception invites us to trust.
• Conception can be an empowering experience.
• Conception does not always happen immediately.

Please share with the group your experiences if you were able or plan to participate in any of the suggestions (listed below) this week, or any other thoughts you might have about the material covered this week.

Day 1:Did you have an opportunity to go outside and ponder what God is revealing to you through creation?

Day 2:Did you notice anything in your living space that you usually overlook that you can be grateful for?

Day 3:Did you start anything new…a prayer practice…exercise routine…a book?

Day 4:Is there someone in your life that as recently experienced loss whom you can support?
Day 5:Did you try praying with a different image of God that the one you usefully turn to, like Emmanuel or Wonder-Counselor?

Day 6:Did you write a note of encouragement to a mentor who empowered you?

Day 7:Is there anyone in your life facing infertility that you can hold in intentional prayer during these sacred days?
